YOUTH ABOUT BUSINESS ENTREPRENEURIAL TRAINING PROGRAM dots

The YAB Entrepreneurial Training Program component is where youth meet every 3rd and 4th Saturday to review our business curriculum. These meetings include guest speakers from industry as well as financial advisors that teach our students about the world of investments. Topics include everything from The Official Corporate Structure, to Asset Management Training. Our students have actually formed an investment club and this area holds the responsibility of overseeing their student scholarship funds, as well as managing some of their personal investments.

TRAINING CENTER PERFORMANCE dots

In the Nashville Chapter of Youth About Business, the students have five small companies and one major program that are referred to as training centers. They are responsible for managing the operations of their training centers, and their most recent one was opened in the last fiscal year. Each company has a President and a Vice-President that takes care of organizing any business dealings or meetings that revolve around their area of responsibility. The training centers are as follows:

  • YAB Specialty Company
  • YAB Real Estate Company
  • YAB All Things Gaming
  • YAB All Things Possible Bargain Center
  • YAB Summer Business Camp

In 2007 the Youth About Business Training Centers increased revenue by 26% over the previous year, and the youth have set an even higher goal for next year.

Youth About Business truly is an organization made to give students a winning aspect in life, as well as create an environment of success that they can enjoy without the negative influences. This organization was started to show the students of Nashville, Tennessee that “All Things Are Possible If You Only Believe!”

SELECTION PROCESS dots

Students ages 10 – 18 are eligible for enrollment in our programs. We will accept 100 students this year in our training program and participating students are sponsored by local corporations, foundations and parent support. We accept all students that have a desire to succeed. We do not select students solely on academic performance, however we do look for ambitious students who have a desire to excel in their lives. If students are looking for a fun, engaging, but challenging leadership training program-Youth About Business is the place for you.
